Our book club meets monthly on a Thursday afternoon or evening, rotating meetings at members' homes and gardens. Each Hostess chooses a book for discussion, and offers her refreshment of choice. We welcome new members and value everyone's opinion.

Walking Group

“Walking: the most ancient exercise and still the best modern exercise.” – Carrie Latet.

It’s one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to strengthen your physical fitness.

The Walking Group usually meets monthly on a Friday, but the day may change depending on circumstances.

Details if any in the gaps, eg, Seasonal walks include admiring the daffodils, or bluebells.

“My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was sixty. She's ninety-seven now, and we don't know where the hell she is.” Ellen DeGeneres Place as a footnote.

Gardening Club

If you don't have a garden or you don't know the names of plants in English or Latin: no problem. You do however need to enjoy watching or growing plants.

If you're interested in gardening, visiting gardens, learning about gardens and have the ability to eat cake and drink tea, this is the Club for you. Like a garden, this Group will evolve and adapt.  Visiting a Garden Centre for a talk or a garden that is only open to the public on certain days, for example, will influence the arrangements. All ideas are welcome.
